Anna Halliwell Gianferante is a mixed media artist and arts educator from the WWII Secret City, Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She earned her MFA in Painting from Savannah College of Art and Design and her MS in Teacher Education from The University of Tennessee Knoxville [BFA - 2D Studio Art, UTK]. Her recent works use mixed medias to convey themes of loss and how the past is recollected. The photographs she took growing up are often resurrected in her work to convey lost connections with others and the distorted nature of memory. Halliwell has taught Art classes for over ten years in both K-12 public schools and higher education institutions. She currently is a full-time faculty member in Pellissippi State's Art Department.
